Welcome to Tipster Picks!
We all need a bit of help sometimes, and our tipping trio are always on hand to share their wisdom in our games. They are:
- The Mailman – Better service than De Bruyne
- The Teacher – Giving lessons on a weekly
- Incognito Pro – The best spy since Bielsa
Will you follow their advice, or go your own way?
Ahead of the Football Survivor and Big5 2023/24 season opener this August 12, the tipsters have been mining the data once again:
The Mailman says…
- My pick: “Liverpool are poised for victory against West Ham this weekend, due to their potent attacking trio, their new meticulous midfield, and a historical advantage in front of their passionate home crowd.“
- Potential pick: “Aston Villa have a strong chance of beating Chelsea as they carry a potent attacking lineup, coupled with an ability to exploit gaps in Chelsea’s defence, which could prove advantageous when playing away from home.”
- Risky pick: “With the momentum of a late winner from last weekend, Spurs will be well up for this game against North London rivals, Arsenal. Despite being the away team, Ange’s team don’t have anything to fear as the loveable Aussie has brought the clubs and fans together in a tremendous short time. Arsenal haven’t also looked the best so far this season, and there’s definitely a chance Tottenham will take advantage of that.”
The Teacher says…
- My pick: “Liverpool reward at more than twice the price of Man City this week and should beat West Ham for the eighth time in their last nine meetings. The Reds are unbeaten having won four of five so far, scoring 12 times. The Hammers are only two points worse off but their expected goals against figure in the sixth worst in the top flight – worrying when about to face this feared forward line.“
- Potential pick: “These are trying times for Manchester United with multiple goals conceded in their last four Premier League games and Bayern Munich faced on Wednesday night. Their midfield is too easy to play through and Burnley won’t be in awe. The Clarets will have taken plenty out of an encouraging display at Forest on Monday when they defended much better than in previous games. A repeat could see them take something here.“
- Risky pick: “Chelsea may have changed manager and another big chunk of their squad in the summer but familiar problems remain – only five goals have been scored, albeit from a fairly high expected-goals figure. Perhaps things will click here on the finishing front but Villa offer plenty of goal threat themselves with 11 scored in their first five games. Villa have lost only one of their last four at Stamford Bridge and can deny their hosts again.“
Incognito Pro says…
- My pick: “Liverpool look to be back to their best again under Klopp. The rejuvenated midfield has brought some much needed energetic legs to Anfield to help them stop getting overrun in the middle. Mo Salah is still the best winger in the league and Alisson isn’t getting any worse.”
- Potential pick: “Tottenham might be the underdog in this fixture, but don’t rule them out. T bring a well-drilled defense, a cohesive midfield, and a history of strong away performances, making them a formidable opponent on the road.”
- Risky pick: “Man Utd have had a difficult start to the season and things around the club don’t feel right. Considering they have to play a big midweek fixture against Bayern Munich, there’s no better time for Burnley to play them at home.”
Good luck!
